Is WJP Urban Farms tax exempt?Yes! WJP Urban Farms received its 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt status as of January 1st 2023.

What does WJP Urban Farms do with profit from produce sales?As a non-profit organization, WJP Urban Farms is constantly reinvesting back into our Detroit community. All proceeds are used for acquiring additional land, purchasing farm equipment and other materials, and administrative costs.

Is WJP Urban Farms produce USDA certified organic?WJP Urban Farms is not USDA certified organic. We are currently in the process of becoming certified and anticipate becoming certified by the end of 2023. Although we are not yet USDA certified, we strictly adhere to the USDA standards of organic cultivation.

Where do you sell your produce?WJP Urban Farms sells its produce direct to consumer at the Detroit Eastern Market as well as to local restaurants in the Detroit area.

Where do you donate your produce?A percentage of each year's harvest is donated back to the local community. This produce is donated directly to local schools, churches, and soup kitchens in the metro Detroit area.

What types of volunteers is WJP Urban Farms looking for?We are in need of professional volunteers to assist in expanding our educational curriculum as well as farmhands to assist throughout the growing season.
