To extend our growing season and provide greater food relief to our community, WJP Urban Farms will be building a hoophouse on two of its lots in 2023.
Hoophouse Benefits
The implementation of a hoophouse will benefit WJP Urban Farms in a variety of ways. Due to Michigan's climate, our growing season is relatively short when compared to other states. One method of extending the growing season is through the implementation of hoophouses. We have the potential to extend our growing season by several months through the utilization of hoophouses.

Additionally, our hoophouses will become an instrumental component in our Kiddies' Garden curriculum. Once established, our young apprentices will have the opportunity to experience the benefits of hoophouses firsthand.
